Niels Bolle
Founder and Chief Creative
Niels grew up in Rhode Island as the youngest in a family of artists. He graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), immediately moved to NYC, and began his career working in the publishing industry for Condé Nast, Hearst, Time Inc., and ultimately as Promotion Art Director for Mirabella magazine.
He founded Bolle Design in the late 90s with a roster of publishing clients and quickly branched out to tackle a range of projects for entertainment companies, fashion industry clients, non profits, and eventually finance, corporate, and big law firms.
When not working Niels is hunched over his drawing table or exploring the countryside on his bicycle.
Niels and his partner Michael met while attending competing design schools and have been friends and colleagues ever since, taking turns working for each other’s companies over the years before finally joining forces.
Michael Boland
Partner and Head Creative
Michael, who grew up in the wilds of New Jersey, spent his teen years traveling into the big city and dreaming of a career as a designer of film key art.
After attending Parsons School of Design in Manhattan, Michael formed his own studio and quickly made his mark designing music packaging for the likes of Sony, Polygram, Blue Note, and Road Runner Records.
Michael now heads our efforts in the design of all things entertainment through our joint venture The Boland Design Co..
Our team produces work with expansive reach, from billboards in Times Square to the screens in our homes.

Project Manager
Amanda Shurgin
Amanda graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in economics. Upon returning to her hometown of New York City, she began a career in the nonprofit sector, taking on many different roles before landing in marketing and communications. She has more than 25 years of experience in production design and print production, both in-house and on the agency side.
Amanda currently lives in Durham, NC, with her husband, two dogs, and two cats. Though still a New Yorker at heart, she loves the slower pace, her amazing community, and rooting for her new hometown team, the Carolina Hurricanes.
Savannah Woody
Account Manager
Savannah grew up in central New Hampshire. She attended the University of New Hampshire where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business management and a year later, her master’s degree in business administration. Her favorite moments are the product of music, photography, and time spent outside.
As account manager at Bolle Design, Savannah is responsible for maintaining relationships with existing clients and for executing prospective client outreach.
